Jaunty Post

catherinekeanThe scorching days of summer are finally giving way to Fall here in Florida. I love the cooler temperatures, and with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, my thoughts always turn to the things for which I’m thankful.

I’m truly grateful for my family, friends, and my health, of course, but I’m also thankful that my talented friend Nancy Robards Thompson invited me to be part of the Jaunty Quills Sisterhood years ago. Back then, I was writing contracted medieval romances for a small independent publisher and my daughter was in middle school; I’m now a successful, self-published medieval romance author and my daughter, in her third year at university, turns 21 at the end of this month! (Eek! That makes me feel old!).

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000030_00041]Being one of the JQ Sisterhood was a LOT of fun! It was a joy to meet and interact with readers—still one of my favorite things about this business. The JQ sisters were also a huge help to me in terms of navigating the craziness and stress of the publishing industry. The other authors generously shared insider news, offered advice when tricky situations arose, and were in all ways a tremendous source of support with my blossoming career. I will never forget the friendships I made as one of the Sisters.

I’m sad that the JQ blog is closing, but want to thank everyone who started it and who was part of it through the years. I’m sure Jaunty Quills won’t soon be forgotten.

If you’re looking for something to read during these cooler months leading up to the holidays, I’d like toboxset-cover-high-res
suggest a couple of my boxed sets. Once Upon a Historical Christmas is available now, and is a special, limited-edition collection of eight Christmas stories priced at just $0.99. It includes my novella One Knight Under the Mistletoe.

under-the-kissing-bough-3d-finalAvailable for pre-order on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and iBooks is the 15-author Under the Kissing Bough collection of all-new Christmas stories. This will launch on November 22 and is also $0.99. I’m busy finishing up my story One Knight’s Kiss and am seriously in love with my hero (!). Shh, docatherinekean_aknightsvengeance_800pxn’t tell!

Dearest readers, leave a comment on my post and I will give away a Kindle copy of Once Upon A Historical Christmas plus a Kindle edition of my first Knight’s Series novel, A Knight’s Vengeance, to one lucky winner.

CATHERINE KEAN is a Kindle Unlimited All-Star author and an award-winning, bestselling novelist of medieval romances. Among other accolades, her books have won the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence and finaled in the National Readers’ Choice Awards. You can learn more about Catherine at her website.
