Jaunty Post

Every thing hath ende.
–Geoffrey Chaucer

I’m going to blow this popsicle stand.
–Jaunty P. Quills

Due to increasing commitments with family and careers, the Sisterhood of the Jaunty Quills has regretfully decided to wind down this blog. Our last post will go up on November 18. The blog archives will remain available for months afterward, so you’re welcome to stop by and check out your favorite posts–and enjoy Jaunty’s sass.

We’ve loved getting to know each other better, and above all, getting to know you, the blog readers. (As for Jaunty…well, there’s no hope for him. He’s only interested in pine nuts.) Some of us wanted to share a quick message with our feelings about the blog:

Shana Galen: As one of the founders of the Jaunty Quills, I feel a special affinity for the blog. It’s become a part of my life. I’ll miss checking in everyday.

Jaunty: I, for one, won’t miss this blog at all. I was never given my proper due. But now that I’m Taylor Swift’s new bae, I’m going to blow this popsicle stand and soak up my celebrity status.

Kathleen O’Brien: I’ve loved being part of the Jaunty Quills and will miss being here so much.  Getting to know my writer friends, and making so many new reader friends, has been such a joy.  I hope we’ll stay in touch!  My website is, and if you’d like to say hi more personally, you can email me at My Facebook page is Kathleen O’Brien (Author) ( My Twitter account is KOBrienRomance.   (

Cindy Kirk: It’s never easy to say good-bye to those you’ve come to regard as friends. So, I won’t say good-bye but rather “I’ll see you” on Facebook and Twitter.  Thanks for sharing the past eight years with me!

Nancy Robards Thompson: I will always be grateful to Cindy Kirk for inviting me to be a Jaunty Quill in September 2008. It’s been a fabulous eight years, during which I’ve made some great friends. I hate goodbyes. So, I hope we can stay in touch. You can connect with me at; on Facebook at Nancy Robards Thompson Books – and;  on Twitter at @NRTWrites; and on Instagram at @NancyRThompson.

Theresa Romain: I’ve long been a reader of this blog, and I was honored to be invited to join the Jaunty company. The other bloggers have become my friends, I’ve met fabulous and funny readers, and I’ve spent a fortune on pine nuts for Jaunty so he won’t go changing the WordPress settings. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this blog, and I hope we’ll all keep seeing each other online.

Kristan Higgins: I remember how honored I was when Cindy asked me to join the blog, and how welcome all you readers made me feel. It’s been a pleasure and an honor, and I hope you’ll keep in touch and visit my other blog… I post one almost every week. Obviously, I’m going to miss Jaunty terribly, and as I said regarding one Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Swift is one lucky woman. Jaunty, I’ll be here for you when she moves on.

Jaunty: Like I care. You think the fact that you were the only one here to put me in a book makes you special, Higgins?

Kristan: Yes, actually, I—

Jaunty: Gotta run. Taylor wants to go clubbing.

Until November 18, we’ll keep bringing you new posts, guest authors, and giveaways galore. Thanks, dear readers, for joining us for this wonderful ride!

Almost all my blogs have closed – you were one of the last few I so enjoyed but I totally understand. Best of luck to everyone and I know I’ll be talking with some of you on FB.

Well, I’m like Catlady — most of ‘my’ blogs have closed. And as far as I can tell, for the same reason as JQ… Life gets busy and you have to prioritize…. Please don’t leave without hotlinks to your Facebook, other social media… I’ve enjoyed time with all of you very much.

Awww This was one of the few author blogs I’ve been reading for years and it’s sad to see it close. Even sadder that there aren’t many of them left that I still read and catch up on. T_T It’ll be missed for sure but it’s definitely not the end, we’ll see y’all around.

I have really enjoyed reading this blog for the last 3 years. Each of the authors have been welcoming and entertaining. I loved the sneak peeks, inspiration and behind the scenes look at all of your books. I am not on social media and so I will check into your websites. Best to you all, and thanks for this daily enjoyment!

I’ve been reading/following this blog for years… I’m so sorry to see you go the way of other favourites (Fog City Divas, Passionate Pen). You’re going to leave a hole and will be sorely missed!

  14. I’m the newest Jaunty, and I can honestly say getting to know you regular readers was my favorite part about blogging here. Let’s not lose touch, ok? I hope we can keep chatting on Facebook or Twitter. It’s such a treat to talk to other people who love romance so much.
