Here at the end of all things…
Well, that’s what the Mayans want us to believe. I, however, think we’ll all be fine tomorrow. I believe it so much, I even passed on a chance to splurge on Cold Stone last night. My current diet waits for no apocalypse!
And I’m delighted to spend today introducing you to my critique partner, Ashlyn Chase. She’s a warm, witty person who writes hysterical paranormals and I know you’re going to love her.
Mia: What draws you to paranormal characters?
Ashlyn: I love using my imagination to its fullest. I should let you know I write light paranormal romance. The world needs more laughter and love, and I try to contribute. When writing about paranormal characters nothing is impossible, unless I decide it is. I have so much fun creating my own mythology. I’m a little ‘out there’ so expect the unexpected. I’ve even invented a whole new paranormal being as you’ll see in my April release Flirting Under a Full Moon. (tease, tease.)
Mia: Tell us about your current series.
Ashlyn: Strange Neighbors takes place in an apartment building in Boston. For some reason, this building attracts paranormal misfits. A shapeshifter who can’t quite control his shifts; an unemployed vampire vigilante, an alpha werewolf who was kicked out of his pack and now specialized in breaking and entering…there’s more, but instead of listing them all, why don’t you pick up the series? (wink, wink.) Book 1 is Strange Neighbors, book 2 is The Werewolf Upstairs, and book 3 is The Vampire Next Door. They’re available in mass market paperback and all eformats. Publisher’s weekly said, “Chase brings on plenty of laughs with steamy sex scenes.”
And guess what? There’s a spin-off series coming! It’s called Flirting with Fangs. Book 1 is Flirting Under a Full Moon (available for preorder now,) book 2 is How to Date a Dragon and book 3 is Kissing with Fangs.
Mia: When you’re not writing, what’s your favorite thing to do?
Ashlyn: I love making beaded jewelry…those Pandora-type bracelets, necklaces and earrings. I sell some on Etsy.com, just to buy more supplies and support my habit. My shop is here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/AshlynsImagination
Mia: Where do you hang out on the web? How can readers connect with you?
Ashlyn: My website is my “official address” and from there you can find links to just about everything. www.ashlynchase.com I have a yahoo group where we play, tell jokes, and generally run amok every day. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ashlynsnewbestfriends/ .
My facebook fan page is pretty active too. https://www.facebook.com/AuthorAshlynChase
And I tweet as GoddessAsh. I guest blog a lot, so who knows where I’ll be next?
Bio: Ashlyn Chase describes herself as an Almond Joy bar. A little nutty, a little flaky, but basically sweet, wanting only to give her readers a scrumptious, satisfying, reading experience.
She holds a degree in behavioral sciences, worked as a psychiatric RN for several years and spent a few more years working for the American Red Cross. She credits her sense of humor to her former careers since comedy helped preserve whatever was left of her sanity. She is a multi-published, award-winning author of humorous erotic and paranormal romances, represented by the Seymour Agency.
She lives in beautiful New Hampshire with her true-life hot, hero husband (who looks like Hugh Jackman if you squint,) and they’re owned by a spoiled brat cat.
THE QUESTION
Either leave a comment or question for Ashlyn, or answer the following question to be entered in the random drawing :
If you could make up a whole new type of paranormal hero, what would he be like?
THE PRIZE
Since Christmas is just around the corner, Mia would like to offer a copy of her enovella that takes place at the Hartwell’s Christmas Ball, My Lady Below Stairs to one lucky commenter! One night, one waltz, one kiss under the mistletoe and suddenly nothing is ever the same again.
Plus, Mia is offering everyone a FREE short Christmas story on her website. Click here if you’d like to be whisked away to Cornwall for A Dragon Caern Christmas!

I will not live long enough to read all the books that I have listed in my notebook especially when I keep adding new authors to it. At least I will die happy. I look forward to reading about Boston. I wonder how many vampires, werewolves, and shiftshapers I really saw when I was there a few years ago. Thanks for visiting with us.

I’m not very good at coming up new paranormals. I’m creative, but not in that way.
However, fun post.
