Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but could’ve sworn I caught a whiff of fall in the air today. The temperatures were less punishing and Mother Nature seemed to dial down the humidity a smidge. Yes, I know, it’s not even Labor Day, but the Pumpkin Spice lattes are back at Starbucks! Autumn has to be close.
According to sources at the U.S. Naval Observatory, fall won’t officially grace us with its presence for twenty days – September 22, 2010; at 11:09 PM EDT, to be exact. Not that I’m counting or anything. But fall is my favorite season of seasons, and I’ve been pining for it all summer long.

Fall wins hands down, it’s always been my favorite season. I love it when the trees all start turning their beautiful fall colors. The smell of a fireplace burning and all those lovely fall decorations and the anticipation of Halloween, it’s my favorite holiday.

I agree, Nancy…fall is my favorite! Nothing compares with the foliage show we get up here. That being said, it’s supposed to be 90 degrees here today!

Spring is definitely my fave time. especially with all the snow we had last year. I love the warm weather and everything coming back to life!

I’m with you, honey! Fall wins, hands down!
Maybe it’s because I’ve lived in Texas so long, where summer is much harder to endure than winter, but I’ve always loved fall. And I adore all the fall holidays. I’m ready to start shopping for Halloween costumes already!

The fall is it for me, too… We’ve had beastly hot summer and even more of it this past week. 90s and high humidity every day (and I’m in Michigan!) I’m ready for a break.

I’m a fall girl too, though it’s hard to beat the wildflowers here in spring. But I love fall, the crispness in the air and though we don’t get a ton of color in TX we do get some and it’s so wonderful to watch the leaves turn. I think the spectacular falls that we got in SE Tennessee were amazing and I do miss that, but there’s something really amazing when the blue northerns start blowing through central TX and push all the clouds out of the sky and we’re left with this amazingly clear blue sky that just takes your breath away. Hard to beat that.

I’m a Spring girl! I love seeing baby birds emerge from their nests and wild baby bunnies. The world seems filled with possibilities in the light that follows winter’s darkness.

I think Spring is my favorite, but last week we had some days with low humidity, and I thought Fall seemed close too.

I’m with you in loving fall. Out here in the desert, we must live in the air conditioning or evaporative cooled houses or you’ll find us wilted on the sidewalks. Fall means we can stay outside passed 10 am in the morning & enjoy the lovely days (not the feeling that we must live in caves with drapes, windows, & doors closed up tight)! Blue skies, cooler breezes, & fall flowers, with a tree here & there gracing us with it’s colorful beauty! YES!!

It would be fall, really. The temps become bearable and the fall colors are great. But fall just means that winte is close, my most hated season. I guess I just can’t be pleased.

I love fall. Kristan’s right about the foliage up here. Autumn seems to last longer in CT than it ever did in Nova Scotia. I’m already looking forward to pumpkin flavored goodies. Did you all know there’s pumpkin ice cream?

I absolutely LOVE Fall! The turning leaves, the smell of wood smoke in the air, fall decorations. It seems like people are more energized from the cooler temps after slugging around in the hot and humid Summer of the South.
