See, I have always wanted to write a story set around the Mayan Riviera with the vast sisal plantations and their sprawling old haciendas.
It’s such an exotic locale, so steeped in violent history, grandeur, and romantic lore. So the Yucatan Penninsula was the perfect location for my second Harlequin Presents romance.
My editor told me that Proud Revenge Passionate Wedlock was the first Presents set in Mexico, which surprised me. Yes, I’ve read a lot of Presents over the years, but I thought that I’d just somehow missed the ones set in Mexico.
I loved writing this novel because it allowed me to explore a theme that I’d always wanted to do. A couple whose marriage had hit the rocks, yet both still loved the other. With deceit, lies and grief swelling between them with each breath they took, was it possible to reclaim that love? Could they start over and build a stronger marriage this time? Should they even try?

For Allegra, she’s returned to the Yucatan for one reason. Closure. She can’t sleep, can’t eat, can’t think of a tomorrow until she’s buried her past. Until she’s let go of the man she loved with all her heart.
I’m giving away an autographed copy of Proud Revenge, Passionate Wedlock to one commenter. Your choice if it’s a Harlequin Presents or Mills & Boon Modern edition! Tell me what was your favorite reconcilliation story. And if you haven’t read one, what was your favorite Modern or Presents title? I’ll announce the winner on Sunday.

Sounds wonderful, Janette! Love your setting. As for my favorite reconciliation story, I love stories of divorced couples reuniting. Sweet Home Alabama (well, then again, it might be my fave because Patrick Dempsey’s in it)…Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force…a book by Jen Crusie whose title escapes me…There’s something so poignant about forgiveness!

I love Mexico – it’s so beautiful! I’m surprised it hasn’t been used before… it seems like such a perfect location for a Presents.
I don’t know what my favourite reconciliation story is, since there are so many fantastic ones that choosing would be impossible. But some of the ones I’ve read recently have been great, like Antonides’ Forbidden Wife by Anne McAllister, which featured a wonderful reconciliation. I also love The Major’s Mistake by Andrea Pickens… though the hero believes the heroine did something wrong, he doesn’t treat her horribly when they meet each other again. Of course, she was in the right all along, so I got my grovel. And Victoria Dahl’s Talk Me Down was absolutely perfect.

Ugh, I got stuck at work without a means to check the blog today so sorry all!
Mmm, Patrick Dempsey was fabu in that — well, anything! But like you I do love a reconcilliation story, Kristan. And PD.
Emily, Paradise is one of my all time fav reunited lover stories.
Margo, thanks much! Hope you enjoy.
I’ve read them all, Lynz. Great choices!
Thanks, Frana. I thought Honey Moon was a tremendous novel. So much emotion!
Shana, that name just popped in my head as I started drafting Proud Revenge and I knew she was my heroine. Funny how names shape the character, but that’s another topic!
Lucy is a fav with her Presents. And thanks, Maureen! I am a happy camper.

My favourite reconciliation story is already mentioned here; it is Judith McNaugth`s Paradise. It just gets better and better over the years.
As for a favourite Mills and Boon title, it has to be No Gentleman/Kate Walker. It was written back on the 1990`s…
