Hi, Barbara! I’m new to your writing, but a fellow booklover with excellent taste just recommended you highly to me! I’ll have to go collect your extensive backlist! (I love finding a new-to-me author with a ton to read!) As for the germination of ideas, I’m definitely not much of a writer, so unfortunately any cool ideas fly out of my head the next minute. I do love picking up a book and going, “Hey, GREAT idea!” though–that’s a lovely anticipation builder! Congrats on your new series! I definitely enjoying revisiting a place/characters once I’ve gotten to know them!

I was just driving down the street and noticed that they’d put in new cameras at an intersection and of course my creative mind starts to wonder what if those cameras caught something other than a speeder? There are ideas everywhere!

Hi Barbara,
Congratulations on the new book. Silent Run was a great book. I loved how the heroine slowly got her memory back as she was trying to figure out everything. I think it’s amazing how authors create stories from just a germ of an idea. When I’m watching the news on TV and I see a story like the current governor’s scandal then I wonder what this man’s wife has to do to get on with her life and I think wouldn’t that be a great story.

Barbara, I love the idea of your book! I tend to get a lot of ideas from news stories and tidbits of history. Most never pan out, but I like putting a new twist on them. I visited Savannah in the spring and got several ideas from their history and ghost stories, it’s a fascinating town.
