Wow, lots of good men cooks. You ladies are lucky. Right now I'm actually enjoying splitting the cooking with my mom as The Professor and I are temporarily living with my parents. My mom is an excellent cook so this is a really nice break for me, well and probably for her too on the nights when I cook. :)

My dad is the best cook in the family. My mom is an adequate cook and I can't really do much in the kitchen.

My one daughter never liked cooking (baking once in a while) - she's newly married and he does most of the cooking. I always liked to cook but after 40 years of doing it all (and I mean ALL) it would be nice to have help once in a while. Actually the hardest part is coming up with what to cook. And I do have to say he's at least great at take out lol.

I usually do most of the cooking these days, but my hubby cooks and helps me in the kitchen. A lot of the time it's a joint effort. He's better at chopping vegetables so I usually have him on the prep stuff. I love that he cooks, especially on the days where I really don't want to. But there are times where I want to prepare great, grand dishes for him.

I love Guy's DD&D - the food is so unhealthy, but still looks so good. :)

Robyn, it's about 30/70 with me doing the bulk. But, he does shop when needed or will be happy to go for soup and sandwich on days I just don't feel like doing the spread.

I do love cooking shows too!

USF and I pretty much share the cooking. He's probably a better cook than I am, but I have a larger repetoire because I will use recipes, whereas he just kind of makes things up as he goes. That results in a lot of pasta dishes. Not that I make it easy--I'm a vegetarian, so I limit his choices. He says he can cook great chili, but I've never tasted it.

I don't like Diners, Crive-ins, and Dives because the food at those places is so greasy and unhealthy. I do like Bobby Flay on Throwdown and I like Michael Symon and Robert Irvine on Dinner Impossible. But it is a stressful show! I'll watch Paula Dean, Ina Garten, and Rachael Ray as well. I have actually cooked some of Rachael Ray's meals (and they took longer than 30 minutes!), but theose other ladies are way above my level of expertise.

USF and I are going to Vegas in a couple of weeks, and he is so excited because we're going to eat at Bobby Flay's restaurant. I think there's one thing on the menu I can eat, but USF really likes Bobby Flay, so it will be fun for him.

I'm the chef at our house. Which works out well, because in all our years together, my husband has taken care of ALL the yucky jobs that I hate. It's always been a balancing act, with 3 kids and various pets and a fairly large house, but we've managed.

I do most of the day to day, getting people fed cooking. But the Geek is the better cook. He's got better instincts or something. Every once in a while, he'll run to the store, pick up some food and whip up a fabulous meal. (Last month he made homemade onion rings that were so good I wanted to roll around on the ground in them.)
Or maybe it's just that he has more ... I don't know, showmanship maybe. You know, if you're only cooking once a month, maybe it's easy to really wow the "audience."
As for tv shows, I like Good Deal with Dave Lieberman and anything with Alton Brown. I don't like Emeril at all. Only like Bobby Flay on Throwdown. I can't stand Robert Irvin on Dinner Impossible. But maybe that's 'cause the Geek watches that show when *I'm* cooking and it stresses me out!

I'm really lucky, Robyn...McIrish does most of the dinner cooking when he's home, bless his Celtic heart! I love to bake, but I pretty much hate cooking, so it works out well.
