Kathy’s World

I’m an optimist. It keeps me going. I believe in the potential good.
—Robert Redford

With the economy and job market the way they are I thought this quote was a good place to start my blog today.  I am an optimist.  Sometimes I want to be depressed about some bad news I’ve gotten, kind of wallow in feeling bad for a little while but I can’t.  There’s always a voice in the back of my head that says it could be worse.

And that one thought always turns my thinking around.  I do believe in good that is probably why I write romance novels for aliving.  I also believe that love can be found in any relationship and that we all deserve that kind of happiness.

I’ve had people say I live in a dream world or as my family likes to say Kathy’s World.  But I like Kathy’s world because I’ve found that when I believe the best in people they respond in kind.  Every time I’ve expected something to go wrong–it does!  And when I believe that everything works out for me, guess what?  It does too.

What about you?  Optimist, pessimist, other-world dweller?  At the end of the day do yous till believe in the good around you?

Happy Reading!

Kathy

I’m an optimist too. Like you, I assume that’s why I read romance.
Even with the situation in the world the way it is, I believe things will work out. Think about the Great Depression … yes that was a seriously tough decade in the history of the U.S. (gosh, the whole world), but we came out on the other side stronger. The same will happen here. We’ll end up with a healthier, greener economy. But we do have to be smart about things.

Admittedly I can wallow with the best of them and I have a melancholy streak. But, for the most part, I’m an optimist. As for the current economic issues, I’m not really worried about that at all. I think sometimes stuff like that has to happen for us to wake up and get our priorities in line. We’ll definitely come out the other side in a much better place.

I tend to consider myself an optimist. What goes around comes around; if you think you can or think you can’t you’re right, and all that.

What drives me crazy are people like my dh, who considers himself a “realist” which in practice translates into being a pessimist. I think my positive outlook helps me feel happier a much higher percentage of the time than his “realistic” outlook does for him.

    Shirley, I agree with you.
I think most pessimists consider themselves realists.
Frankly, I don’t care if those “realists” are correct more often. I care if I’m happy more often.

Well, I’m not an optimist, but I’m not a pessimist either. I guess I’m sort of in the middle.

Optimist, definitely… I always think things will work themselves out and I like to look on the bright side whenever possible.
