ok i have seen the movie and i loved it. I do have something to say to the person that was talking about stephanies books being a knock off. that is a lie because i too have read her books and yess they are similar in some ways but even though L.J.'s books are good, stephanie gives it a new twist and makes it more suitable for teenagers now. and also i would like to say that whoever said taylor lautner, the guy that played as jacob is not handsome enough. you really do not have taste because he is the finest boy ive ever seen. (just being honest) but i wanted to say it was an awesome movie and i can't wait to buy it when it comes out on dvd.

I had the first book in the series and read through about half of the book before I got to frustrated to finish it. Here is why:

Many may or may not know of the author L.J. Smith (Lisa Jane Smith) - who writes a series called 'The Vampire Diaries.' Which came out in 1991. It consisted of four volumes (although I hear that after such a long time that there is a fifth book coming out). However, the old volumes are now out of print, they have been reissued.

Anyways, back to my point. Twilight is almost a carbon copy of L.J. Smith's novels - right down to the year and type of car. Even the plot line is the same. Although it is worded differently, it is much the same.

It gives me no amount of pleasure as to the knowledge that although the books are so alike, and L.J. Smith's books are older, that Stephenie Meyer got more credit and publication for what seems to be a knock off of L.J. Smith's.

I have over 3,500 books - and have been reading since before I could walk. Yes, I have seen similarities between different authors and their work - and yes, it is going to come with the territory of writing, but I have never seen authors whose work is so identical to another's just spat out in different wording as these two authors.

I have the first book in the series, but have yet to read it. I saw the movie on Saturday and thought it was pretty good. Robert Pattinson (Edward) is a cutie, and I thought he and the actress who plays Bella had good chemistry. The movie made a lot of money at the box office this past weekend, and it was announced that a second movie is in the works.

If you want to hear something crazy, our family (yes, including Grandma) are all going to see the movie Thanksgiving Day night. (We already have our tickets!)

I was thrilled to hear New Moon will be out in 2010.

And I'm DEFINITELY Team Edward!

Thanks for the review!

I haven't seen it yet, Shana, but I'm dying to! Loved the first three books in the series. So I'm glad to hear that they were fairly true to the storyline. Congrats on surviving the fieldtrip. Your comment about calling your middle school buddy made me laugh!
