RWA National San Francisco

Greetings from chilly (and extremely windy) San Francisco. It’s my first visit here and I’m just loving it. The Professor and I came in on Monday and we’ve been doing the tourist thing – I have my obligatory pictures of the Golden Gate bridge (on a clear day, thank you, very much). Tonight was the first official event of the conference, the big literacy signing. So for your viewing pleasure here are the Jaunty Quills (minus Shirley who didn’t join us this year).

Here are Anne and Margo. I’m pretty sure they gabbed the whole night.

Cindy who’s been working her tail off as one of RWA’s Board Members and she still looks fantastic.

Emily with the littlest romance reader.

Here’s Shane with her pretty blue RITA Finalist flag. Notice how none of the rest of us have one of those…

Here’s me eagerly awaiting the line of adoring fans.

And here’s pretty much what we all look like now after 2 hours of a crowded ballroom.

I was so nervous and very excited to be there. Thank you for the smiles, hugs, kinds words and for remembering us. A dream come true for sure.

Wah! I’m so sad to miss conference again this year. Last year I was in the hospital having a baby so I didn’t *miss* not going but this year I’m home with a one-year-old who’s so excited about becoming mobile he doesn’t want to hold still for a second, not even for a diaper change. It’s warm enough to let him go naked but we have wall to wall carpet.

I’ll have to wait until I get home to be able to see Robyn’s pics since Big Brother here at work doesn’t let them load. Hope you all have a great time. It’s so cool to catch up with people in person when you mostly know them from on-line!

Anna, you’re so sweet. It’s a great jacket!

Glad you enjoyed the photos, Fedora.

Shirley, good luck keeping up with the munchkin.

    Hi Robyn, and all!

 Thanks for posting pictures of all the “Jaunties” at the signing ~ you all look wonderful!

Isabel was just telling me about the fabulous time she and Manuelita Wed night visiting with you all. And from her descriptions of the tremendous amount of people there, your photos seem to suggest “the calm before the storm”!

I’m so sorry to have missed all the excitement, but I’m really lucky because Isabel was so nice to pick up some autographed books for me.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the conference!

It was so exciting to meet the Jaunty Quills!! I was literally tongue tied. I know I just kept staring at each author and just being in awe that they were there, right next to me. LOL!

Isabel and I had a blast running around meeting as many authors as we could fit in to 2 hours.

I just got back home last night after a 7 hour drive from San Francisco to Orange County. Meeting you ladies certainly made the trip worthwhile!! I hope you all enjoy the rest of the conference and your excursions into San Francisco. Not too far from the Marriott is Beard Papa’s. Delicious cream puffs and eclairs!! Yummy!

It was great to meet Isabel and Manuelita and so many other readers! I was certainly exhausted after all the talking and signing. I think USF and I finally got dinner around 11 p.m.

We’re having fun here in SF!
