Thanks Fedora! I still can't believe that #20 is scheduled either. It's such a great feeling.

Jenny Cruise's books are awesome! I have an autographed Welcome to Temptation on a keeper shelf above my head.

Have fun on those author blogs and glad you stopped by.

Hi, Michele! I used to shop eBay way more, but have gotten way more cautious lately! I did round out most of my Jenny Crusie backlist off eBay :) Now I keep reading about people being scammed so I'm a little reluctant to do as much shopping. Also, I keep spending all my time hanging out on author blogs... ;) Congrats on 20 books! How incredible!

We have a woman who hits our post office at 4 PM every day with all the stuff she's got to ship. (My post office is tiny--only one person works the counter, and the place closes for 2 hours for lunch). The woman is an eBay goddess. I don't know her seller name or what she's charging her customers, but I do know she doesn't wear cashmere gloves. And she's a sweetie because she often lets me go first since she has so much stuff.

Hi Shana! Hi Barb,

I went on eBay because I needed a new cell phone, and after two hours of looking, simply gave up. There were too many choices and too many were "unlocked." As I'm on one network, I don't need a phone that'll work everywhere. It also means someone's messed with the computer guts, and since I don't know that person, it makes me wonder.

So I just went and got my phone off the ATT site.

Hi Michele,
I'm afraid you caught ebay on the downside. In its heyday it was an exciting place to pickup a bargain. Now, like you, shoppers have to be educated to the real cost of things they're looking for. Most sellers are making their money on shipping and "handling." I figure they are handling their packages with cashmere gloves.
I go in with my eyes open and a top bid limit I will not pass. Many folks have automatic bidding software that will snap things up at the very last second so that sitting by your computer and checking your bid while you count down does no good at all.

Congratulations on your 20th book!

Hey Michele! Glad to have you here. Michele actually did a workshop on being a superwoman at my RWA chapter last Saturday. Awesome workshop!

No eBay hints, here. I don't use it much.

Thanks Cindy for letting me post today. They blocked eBay where I worked because it's so addictive, but at the same time, where can you get instant pricing?

Emily, part of my efficiency this year is that I won't be at RWA! RWA is far too late this year. I'm actually in teaching meetings that week. I don't remember the Sunshine family, but they had to be out when I was growing up. I had very few Barbies as they were so expensive. My daughters were spolied: over 75 Barbies (I counted once) and at least 20 Bratz, which are the new trend. Bratz are even smaller waisted, but with really big heads. My youngest is about out of the doll phase. I'm not sure how we got that many. Lots of gifts, I think.

Okay, I'm answering despite being intimidated by your very impressive bio. I hope you're giving some kind of efficiency workshop at national.

As for ebay, I'm with you. I'm slow to take to it, even though I can see how addictive it is. For me, the most fascinating thing about ebay is looking up the toys of my youth to see how much they sell for now. My favorite was the Sunshine Family-- sort of a seventies, commune, hippy answer to Barbie, et al. I have very fond memories of the Sunshine Family and have even considered buying the family, the craft store and the family farm for my little girl (even though it would cost a fortune), just so she can have something other Barbie's anorexic glamor to inspire her.

Michele,

I LOVE eBay! My most recent purchase was a Talbot's purse (originally sold for $94, got for $23). This one was sold "like new" and it really was in that condition. I've also bought many things NWT (new with tags). My husband likes Addidas Climacool shoes...I always buy them NWT on eBay for half the price I can get them in the store.

My one suggestion would be to get a PayPal account. It's great for paying for your purchases and you can also use it to pay dues for many Romance Writers of America chapters and events!

The company is based out of Omaha Nebraska (the area where I live) and is very reputable.

Happy eBay shopping!
