Accident-Prone

band-aid

I’ve never really thought of myself as a klutz, but lately I’m beginning to wonder. I keep getting hurt–not really hurt so much as battered and bruised.

The first incident happened in August. I was running on the trail near my home, and instead of looking at the ground, which is kind of uneven, I was watching the people ahead of me. See, I was trying to prevent a collision. Instead, I tripped on the asphalt and went down, seriously skinning both knees. Luckily, Ultimate Sportsfan has some medical training and he cleaned me up.

The next incident happened while I was skiing. I didn’t get hurt from any of my numerous falls, but I got a pretty serious ski boot injury. The boot rubbing on my textured sock for two days caused a huge blister, and even after a month, it’s still raw and pink.

The last incident happened Sunday. I was running with USF at the park and right after mile 1, I hit the dirt. This time I skinned both hands and both knees–right on top of the old injuries. Ouch! I had to buy more bandges today because I’ve used all of those in my home. Maybe I should invest in band-aids?

So what about you? Are you graceful or a klutz like me?

I’m a klutz. It’s a joke in the family that I can walk on a straight road and still trip over a curb!

I was pretty graceful in my youth. No so anymore. I’m so bad, Santa brought me a shirt one year that had SUPER KLUTZ printed on it. LOL! I wore it with pride!

I am a total klutz, and unfortunately both my kids are, too! I can’t tell you how many times a week I hit a doorframe with my arm/shoulder…

Oh yeah, I’m a klutz too. One of the reasons our bed is nowhere near walls (we’ve put as much distance as possible) is because one time I got up in the middle of the night, and walked right in to the wall.

Not to mention the bruises on my needs and upper arms from bumping into things here at home and work.

Yep – I broke a rib last fall (pun intended, heh) when I was *walking.* OK, I walk really fast and I have two big Labs on leashes making sure we keep up the pace. But I tripped and went flying. Ugh.

I’m a total klutz. My mom was always calling me “Grace” when I was growing up cause I’m forever falling, tripping or running into stuff. I busted my left knee open three times when I was kid and have a lovely scar as a result. Even now I’m always getting these nasty bruises and half the time I don’t know where they come from – I guess I’m so used to bumping into stuff I never notice anymore. The remarkable thing, the only bones I’ve ever broken are toes and I’ve only ever had stitches in my mouth. Go figure.

Nope, graceful as a ballerina, that’s me. :snicker:

Seriously, Someone has been watching over me, carrying a baby and trying not to trip over the two cats who are underfoot, especially Derby who is always hoping we’ll get out the CatDancer for him. (Darn you, Anne!)

I was hiking on a trail and slid on a wet rock. The momentum carried me forward into another rock, and that one sent me airborne. I was wearing long rubber boots, and I felt like Superman as I flew over the second rock. I tweaked out my back but other than that luckily no serious injury.
