Where are you with your resolution??
Written by Cindy Kirk in Jaunty PostOkay, it’s been almost three weeks since I once again made my New Year’s resolution….and it’s time for a reality check.
Like many of you, my resolution was to be healthier in 2008. I wanted to eat less, exercise more, and take time to smell the flowers (which I’m telling you is an impossibility right now with the cold and snow)
Anyway I started the year with a bang, then fell off the healthy wagon after about a week…but am back on board now.
How about you? Though I’ll be happy if you’ve stuck to your resolution, I would like to hear from a few of you who’ve struggled like me to stay on track.
Or, if you’d like to talk about what YOUR weather has been like, I’d like to hear that, too.

I blew my resolution to write 50 pages a week the second week of January, so now I’ve been playing catch-up. Also missed sticking with my attached goal to blog regularly. I’m going to blame the weather, lol. Having a constant blanket of white coupled with bone-chilling temperatures is just too uninspiring. Yeah, my editor isn’t going to buy that excuse either.
Shana Says:
I’m making steady progress on my resoltuion, which was to finish reading the Bible. I haven’t had as much time to read as I’d like.
Margo Maguire Says:
My resolution is an ongoing one, not just for New Year’s … So I’ll tell you about our weather.
Bitter cold!! and plenty of snow. And it’s only January.
Lois Says:
Oh, I’m very on track — after all, if one doesn’t make a resolution, they can’t fall off the wagon! LOL

Amy Says:
I’m with you Lois…LOL In my own way I guess I am on going with my resolutions, how evasive is that!
The weather is going to be in the 50’s this week-end, so I am going to be BUSY!!!!!!! Here in NE, that is like HEATWAVE, so I am going to almost have to start spring cleaning. I’m not sure if I am looking forward to that or not?!?!?

One of mine has been slow going, but I’m by no means giving up. The other one is going fairly well. The weather has been very cold - well for this southern girl anyways.
Cindy Kirk Says:
I’m feeling better reading about everyone who is sticking by their New Year’s resolution.
Amy, I had to smile when I read your post about getting into spring cleaning mode when the temperature starts to warm even a little.
I actually found myself wondering if it was too soon to get out some of my Easter decorations.
I also have a proposition for some of you who may be interested in doing a guest blog. As you may have noticed, I blog every Saturday…but I thought it might be fun say, once a month, to have one of YOU blog. If you’re interested, email me at cindykirk@aol.com and we’ll work out the details. Looking forward to hearing from you!!
Rainy Says:
This year I decided to make every attempt to not add or take part to the negativity I find at work. There was one day when people were grumbling and complaining and I noticed how contagious negativity can be.

So, the days I work I conciously smile first thing. One day I was just thinking about something that made me chuckle and I had this huge smile on my face and I noticed how this also is contagious, having people throw smiles back at me.
Now, I do realize that just like dieting there will be falling off the wagon days, but as long as you get back on, it’s okay.
And we winter in Florida, so I’ve no complaints about the weather!
Cindy Kirk Says:
Rainy,
What a great resolution…and very timely. I’ve been reading lots of articles lately on the power of positive thinking and keeping negativity at bay!!
Thanks for sharing.
Mary M Says:
I’m keeping my resolution to declutter by taking baby steps. On my other resolutions, I like to think to think I haven’t fallen off—it’s just that I’m still in the planning stage, lol.
We have cold weather with storm clouds here.
Cindy Kirk Says:
Mary M.
Decluttering…what another fabulous resolution.
Cold weather with storm clouds?? Hmm….rain? Or SNOW???
Mary M Says:
Hi Cindy,
It’s rain and it’s glorious…just what we needed in Southern California.
Cindy Kirk Says:
Mary,
Rain does sound glorius. I’m sure all the flowers will appreciate it this Spring.
We have sunny skies and temps in the 40’s today. I’m just happy to be out of the freezer….and with no snow on the horizon (at least not in the next few days)
