I’m drawing a blank
Written by Cindy Kirk in Jaunty PostAs I sit here, I wonder to blog about. Something writing related? Something personal? Something about pets (as you know I’m a huge animal lover)? Something more introspective?
Nothing strikes me as just right. Of course, I’m someone who overpacks because I’m not sure what I’ll be “feeling” like wearing on any given day….so it shouldn’t be a surprise that nothing feels quite right to me.
What would you like to talk about today? Shall we just do a free for all?
I’m babysitting my grandogs this weekend so I’ll be around to respond.

Let’s talk about what to get people for Christmas. I know what to get my mom, my sister, and my sister-in-law. But my dad? My mother-in-law? My father-in-law? My brother-in-law? My husband? Help!

I haven’t even started my gift list for Christmas! When my kids were small, I always started my shopping before Thanksgiving. This year is going to be a challenge, because they’re older and will only get one or two gifts apiece from my husband and me. So we really have to think about what they need/want and pick up something really special for each of them.

Shana, yesterday, I picked up a digital photo frame for my mother for Christmas. She is completely computer illiterate and misses out on many of the photos that are e-mailed to people, even tho we print out as many as possible. This frame will allow me to download the photos to a memory card, load up her frame, and she can watch her photos to her hearts content. It even plays mp3’s!
Of course, I also got my sister a Michigan State garden troll. You might try visiting the book store of a loved one’s alma mater and seeing what can be shipped out in time for Christmas.

I got my son-in-law one of those digital picture frames for his birthday next week. My daughter is going to load some of his favorite pictures on it, so they’ll already be there when he opens it!
Margo and Shana, A gift that I like to give (and which family seems to love to get ) are movie passes. It’s a little more personal than giving a gift card (which I personally LOVE to get) and it’s something they can use whenever it works for them!

I have 3 children of my own and a nephew. So that’s 4 small people. Then there is my Husband, my Sister and Brother-In-Law, Mom and Dad. I Love to buy for everyone even though no wants or needs anything, and I always try for the perfect present. Am I not setting myself up or what!!! Oh and I always over buy and over spend. I’m hopeless!!!!!!!!!
