Jaunty Post

With the holidays drawing ever closer, it’s that time of year once again to start making out those lists so that the jolly guy in red will know just what you’d like to find under your tree come Christmas morning. I already received my big ticket item this past weekend when my family gifted me with a Playstation 3 as an early present. (Of course, they totally ignored my request for Hugh Jackman to be delivered to my front door, complete with a big red bow. Sigh. Somehow that request gets overlooked every year…) There are a few other small things on my list. Some books and CDs and DVDs. And yes, joy, peace, and good will toward man are pretty high up there as well. Just so you know I’m not totally mercenary. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, do you have your lists ready? Do you know what you would like for Christmas? What about your fantasy Christmas list? What would you like to receive if you could have anything and money was no object?

Just to add a little fun to the sharing, all of those who comment before midnight on Friday, November 23rd will be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win a signed cover flat of my upcoming release, Seduced By Sin, along with their choice of a signed copy of one of my first four books. (You can mull over your choices at my website.) I will announce the winner on Saturday, November 24th.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

My wish list this year includes the fees for my application to RWA and then the Kentucky Chapter. That will be from my hubby.

I have a list as long as your leg of books I want to get from Amazon as well as a few James Taylor CDs. The movie Stranger Than Fiction or Little Women with June Allyson.

My MIL is getting 7 old cameras “developed” onto disks for me from when my daughter was between 6 months and a year old that I never got around to getting developed. And last night my hubby had to take the fun out of another gift his mom is getting me- a spice rack.

Not sure how I feel about it and I would’ve preferred not to know, but hubby tends to want to tell me EVERYTHING he knows I’m getting. He can’t let a surprise be a surprise…He just came in the kitchen when he got off the phone with his mom and said, “Oh, by the way, act surprised when you see the spice rack.”

    ACK! Men!

I told him if his parents start asking about what to get me to tell them to just get me a B&N gift card, but nope, don’t guess that’s going to happen. LOL

If money were no object…shew…build on to the house, get some storage containers…mostly stuff to organize my home because I feel like I live in chaos.

  2. AndreaW says:

Besides the usual B&N gift card and a new purse, I just really enjoy watching my kids open their presents. Seeing the looks on their beautiful faces is absolutely priceless!

  3. My Christmas wish is that my dear sweet mother in law will burn Christmas dinner. I know it seems mean but I have to hear about her perfect Christmas dinner all year from my husband. I would be so very happy to know that Saint Carry is not as perfect as my husband seems to think lol. Of course this is a fantasy wish, but it sure would be a dream come true. lol

  4. Jennifer Y. says:

Hello all! Sorry I haven’t been commenting lately.

My b-day is near Christmas so I have a longer list (have to give people options…LOL)…the main thing on my list is a handheld eBook reader…and of course books!!! I also asked for money toward a trip I want to take to a reader-author conference in South Carolina.

Oh, and if money were no option, I’d love for someone to pay for me to go to the RT convention just once in my life…or for every year they hold it while I am still alive…LOL.

  5. Nathalie says:

I would love to have a new computer… mine is so slow!

  6. Dorothy says:

Books are always on my list. I keep a running list of books I want at all times, just in case someone asks me. People know that, to me, a gift card to a bookstore is THE perfect gift!

Somehow they always forget that I’d like to have either Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom delivered to the doorstep in time for Christmas. ๐Ÿ™„

  7. brownone says:

My birthday is on Tuesday so its far enough away from Christmas that I get separate presents and close enough that I don’t have to wait too long for Christmas to roll around. The only thing I want is a blue I-pod nano. The cute new ones that play video, holds pictures, AND plays music. I am guaranteed a few bookstore gift cards from my sisters and mom!

  8. Linda says:

My Christmas wish list includes a external CD/DVD RW drive for my computer. As well as my usual purse or better yet purses.

Other than that I just like to see my kids enjoy the holiday. It’s amazing how much pleasure, you can get out of just watching their little faces light up.

  9. Cindi Hoppes says:

Happy Thanksgiving! I like to receive gift cards for gifts. I like different restaurant ones, Hallmark, etc. Thanks, Cindi

  10. Jillian says:

Ratatouille is at the top of my list. Has anyone seen it? It’s adorable.
I’m also dying to see Atonement…but, fortunately, I don’t have to wait till Christmas for that!

  11. Crystal B. says:

I would love to have a china cabinet and a journey pendant.

  12. Lily says:

I would love to be able to spend it with my family and not working at the hospital… I have my fingers crossed!

  13. Books have a tendency to top my list. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  14. Maureen says:

We are just starting to get our lists together and I am asking for gift cards to put towards a basic sewing machine. We have an old machine that doesn’t work well so everyone will enjoy a new one.

I hope everyone who celebrates it has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  15. Teresa W. says:

I’m hoping for tickets to see The Lion King coming to my town in the next few months.

  16. Jane says:

I would like to a new plasma tv and some dvds to go along with it. If money was not an object that I would wish for a brownstone. I’ve always wanted to live in one since I saw them on the Cosby Show.

  17. Minna says:

Gift card for a bookstore! My relatives always buy me books, but somehow they never manage to buy the kind of books I like.

  18. I already know what I want for Christmas. I want gift cards to book stores, books & more books *G* I would even love to win the JackPot ๐Ÿ˜† Only in my dreams right *G*

I would like to spend time with family & friends.

  19. Helen says:

I wanted tickets to see Rod Stewart in his Australian tour here in Feburary so my wonderful children have got me them, my hubby and I are going to see Rocking Rod again next year we have seen him every time he has toured here since I was 15 years old and that is a long time and lots of concerts and of course books I always want more books to read.
    Happy holidays to everyone.
    Have Fun
    Helen ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Kathryn says:

Oh where to start…. renovation $$$ for the kitchen and bathrooms, books, books, books, of course… spare time to read and quilt, but most of all a happy Christmas for my kids. And Johnny Depp or Clive Owen in a box wouldn’t hurt either!

  21. catslady says:

My mistake is I don’t usually ask for much and end up with things like rug cleaners and air cleaners – ugh. But not always thank heavens. (I already saw by mistake in the garage another George Foreman grill because I hate the first one he gave me because it’s so hard to clean so he got me one that is suppose to be easier to clean – sigh).

A fantasy wish would be a wall to wall library with the moving ladder and a window seat overlooking a fabulous view lol.

  22. ladydawgfan says:

What I would like for Christmas is a flat screen computer monitor, AutoCad 2007, most of the books on my TBB list including the OOP ones, and a new digital camera with at least 10mp and at least 12X optical zoom so I can indulge my passion for photography.

My fantasy Christmas list?? Gerard Butler sporting a shiny red bow and bearing a diamond ring!!

If money were no object and I could have anything I wanted, I would want a limitless worldwide first class plane ticket, funds for hotels, meals, and transportation, and a LOT of money for souveniers from all of my travels.

    Santa, can you hear me????

  23. Ack! Someone just pointed out to me the wording on my post. So sorry everyone. What I meant was that I will be choosing ONE winner at random from all those who comment. Sheesh! You’d think I’d been hitting the eggnog a bit early. Sorry for the confusion.

  24. Stacy S says:

On my list is a Coach purse. Not sure the dh will pay the price for a purse though. If money was no problem: a new car. Mine has been in the shop 3 weeks now & they still don’t know what’s wrong with it! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  25. Haven Rich says:

I want a new desk. I have it picked out and everything. I drool over the website that has it at least once or twice a day (read hour).

I wouldn’t mind having a new comforter set..also picked out.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

  26. Shana Shana says:

Books! And gift cards for clothes.

  27. tami says:

ipod! one i had ,my grandaughter bit it and tore it up

  28. I also have an ereader on my christmas want list ๐Ÿ™‚

  29. Christy H. says:

Jillian I took my Granddaughter to see Ratatouille and it is adorable.

I have more fun giving gifts than receiving gifts. I don’t like it when the attention is focused on me. Actually, I’d rather have people give me things during the year that mean something or are special other than the obligatory Christmas gift.
I really would like a new front door though.

And, if money were no object ~ a cruise or trip would be great.

  30. Eva S says:

I want books, books and more books!

And it would be nice if Santa paid all my bills and left me enough for a new bathroom…

  31. Stefanie D says:

I wouls like some books, but more important: I would like it to be a happy day for my dad. It has been (and still is) a difficult time for him and I just hope that he’ll be able to ejoy and forget his troubles for a day.

  32. Maggie says:

I want for my family to be together on christmas… and maybe a gift – a surprise is always appreciated (a nice scarf perhaps)!

  33. Sue A. says:

I don’t have a wistlist written out this year. But I do like giftcards so I can choose what I want when I want it. And I always want more books!

  34. Angela says:

I would love to have a digital photo frame for all of Connor’s pictures and I’d really really love to have a roomba for my hardwood floors (yeh right!) LOL

    Ill blog about ya too

  35. Kimberly B. says:

My actual Christmas list includes a new tea brewer, a new bathrobe, and Twin Peaks on DVD. If money were no object, however, I would ask for a trip to Turkey. I study ancient history, AND I belly dance for fun, and Turkey is great for both those things!

  36. Cecilia says:

My christmas wish list has just one item. I would like to win the lotto. The I can quit work and travel the world. Well, it is nice to have a dream. ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. I really don’t have a wishlist. Seriously. I like surprises.
