New poll feature
Written by Anne Mallory in Jaunty PostWe’ve added a new poll feature to the site (points to the sidebar under the book spines). Just something small and fun that we’ll change periodically.
I’ve included the first one below. Vote on the sidebar or below - either will count toward the total.
So what do you like best about Autumn? If it’s “Other”, please respond inside with what your “Other” is! Or if you like Autumn for multiple reasons, let us know that too! We can have a friendly fight inside.

Fun! I voted for the weather cools off. Living in Houston, that’s the thing we all look forward to. It hasn’t exactly happened yet, but hopefully soon.

I also voted the weather cools off; however, the kids going back to school, for me, was a tie! Actually, its still pretty hot over here in North Florida, close to 90 degrees. Does not feel like Autumn at all!
Robyn DeHart Says:
Well, I love that the weather cools off, but the main thing for me is that the holidays are coming. I LOVE the holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then my favorite, Christmas.

I also voted for the weather cools off. I love when my kids can go outside to play.
Cool new feature, JQ ladies!
Rainy Says:
The weather cooling off in Vermont is not such a problem and my daughter is grown. And although I absolutely love, love the magnificent display of leaves in the fall, what I like best about autumn is the feeling of change in the air. To me it is motivating, invigorating and I feel possibilities everywhere.
Dorothy Says:
I had to choose from the weather cooling off and the trees changing color. The trees won! I love the display of color that mother nature puts on at this time of year! The weather cooling off is another plus. I love cool crisp mornings and being able to wear a sweatshirt! Ahhhh…this is my favorite time of year.
Jami Alden Says:
I’m sure when my kids are older I’ll enjoy the back to school aspect. right now, I like fall because I can explore another part of my wardrobe - pants, boots, long sleeve shirts… and closed toe shoes mean not having to keep up on my pedicures
catslady Says:
Definitely the gorgeous leaves. I live in PA and it’s quite a display. I wish it lasted longer though - the first hard rain or windstorm and they seem to disappear overnight.
Helen Says:
I love the weather cooling down here in Australia it is spring and we have had some really hot days already and a few bushfires we have a total fire ban on today and the bush fire brigade are on alert it is expexted to reach 33C today. I think we are in for a long hot summer over here I wish I could be in the States for autumn.
Have Fun
Helen
Lacey Says:
Up here in the NW, we don’t have that “weather cools off problem.” But the trees… the trees… sigh.
Mary Says:
Weather! Absolutely!
