But I don’t WANNA go to school

Written by Jenna Petersen in Jaunty Post

As you can see, we Jaunties are a tad slow coming back from our Labor Day Weekend, though I think Anne Mallory will be posting something later today (that I’m sure will be fabulous). So I’ll post a question for you this morning and let’s get chatty!

Now that summer is over, what was your favorite thing about this one? And what are you looking forward to for fall?

This summer MY favorite thing was getting my Lasik and being able to see. :) And Fall is my favorite season! I am looking forward to being able to wear jeans and sweatshirts again. I’m looking forward to changing leaves. And I’m looking forward to September 25. ;) Oh and October 30.

Looking forward to your answers and come back later for Anne’s post!!

The best part of my summer was my trip to New York and Canada. Best part of the fall…BACK TO SCHOOL!! A close second is Halloween! I LOVE when the kids get all dressed up and I love the carved pumpkins! Thanksgiving is another favorite!

I just enjoy spending time with my kids during the summer. As for fall, I’m looking forward to some cooler temps. Also looking forward to all the fall releases (including yours, Jenna and Jess ;) )!

I loved getting to see my family this summer, especially my nieces and nephew. Man, I miss those kids. The thing I’m looking forward to about fall…just about everything, we had a rough summer at the DeHart house, so I’m glad its finally over.

My favorite part of summer was my trip to Mississippi to visit friends - the trip wasn’t long enough. This fall (next month, actually), my best friend is expecting her first child, a little boy they will name Nathan Christopher. I am looking forward to that blessed event most of all.

Hands down the best thing about my summer was my son being born. We struggled a bit with preemie issues since he was early, and are still making adjustments (I thought newborns were supposed to *sleep*!) but I can’t believe how much I love him already. So fun to watch his personality emerging.

What I’m looking forward to in the fall is relief from summer heat and Daniel getting older and catching on that he shoud sleep more so Mom and Dad can sleep. :-)

    Seeing family!

I liked seeing family this summer, too. I also finally got to tour the Margaret Mitchell House.

I’m also looking forward to October 30!

This was a hard summer since my Dad passed away in July, but before and after, getting together with family was wonderful.
When autumn starts to poke in around late August, I do regret the end of summer. But then there is a freshness, a crispness, to the air, a strength to the sun and a feeling of change in the air. It makes me want to do something new.

As always, I’m looking forward to Halloween. I just love dragging out those scary movies and books sometime around the beginning of October for my own personal Scare-A-Thon. :) My town and several of the surrounding towns also have our fall festivals right around then, so trying all of the good food is a highlight, as well.

And Rainy, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I’m sending my thoughts and prayers your way.
