As you wish…

bride Do you remember The Princess Bride? The fun, the adventure and the romance? It’s one of the most quotable movie of my generation. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love it, child or adult. Well, there’s a new movie out, one that, I think, is The Princess Bride for this new generation. I will have to see it again to see if it has the longevity that Wesley and Buttercup’s story has, but I’m thinking it does. So if you’re looking for a movie to see, go see Stardust. dust It’s innovative, funny, romantic and all around fun for everyone in the family. I’m so suprised it hasn’t gotten more media play as it has a stellar cast, including an unforgetable role for Robert De Niro. So this weekend when you’re looking for something to do, grab your sweetie or your girlfriend or your kiddo and settle in with a big bag of popcorn, sit back and enjoy one of the best movies this summer.

I’ve been wanting to see this one. When they have good movies out, it seems like they all come out at the same time! I’m torn between this and “Becoming Jane”. And movies are so darned expensive nowadays. We took the kids to see Shrek the Third and spent over $60.00 between the movie and the popcorn for a family of five. I said that would have been like three months worth of family movie nights (we do it every weekend most of the time) where we rent DVD’s and do some microwave popcorn!

I’m soo looking forward to this one. Neil Gaimen RULES. But I can’t see anything right now since I still have haloing in the dark from my Lasik (that’s normal and lasts up to six months). So I think it would detract. But I can’t wait until it’s out on video!!

Oh, and Princess Bride is one of my favorites. The book is equally wonderful, but be warned that it’s more a satire and doesn’t contain much of the sweetness and warmth of the movie. However, it’s still worth a read.

I’ve been looking forward to this one, Robyn! Glad to hear it was worth the wait. Unfortunately, no movies for me until I finish these pesky revisions. But as soon as I’m done, I’m so there!
