Exciting things! At least to me.

Written by Jenna Petersen in Jaunty Post

Although it’s almost impossible for me to believe, it is, indeed, July as of today! That means more than half the year is over. It also means some other exciting things:

1. Chapter 2 of my You Tell Me the Story, “A Woman Scorned” is up as of today! You can vote for what you think should happen in Chapter 3 until July 15, so head on over and vote!

2. RWA National is in just a little more than a week. I’m so excited to see all my friends and meet some readers and have fun and frolic in Dallas. Who is going? Anyone, anyone… Buehler?

3. Seduction Is Forever is out in just about three months. Which seems like forever, but it will be here before I know it. AND I got many bound ARCs recently, so I’ll be giving one away here some time this month!! Be sure to be on the look-out for the post that tells you how to win the LAST Lady Spy book. Learn who Lady M is before your friends! Robyn DeHart already knows. She may be bribeable. I’m just saying.

4. Only four months until Everything Forbidden, my first full-length erotic historical romance. I just read over the page proofs for this book (that’s an unbound version of the book that is just about final) and I had forgotten how much I liked Miranda and Ethan. I really hope you guys will fall in love with them. I’m very nervous. :)

So, summer is officially, fully under way now. What are YOU excited about for the second half of the year? Anything you’re really looking forward to in July? Or, heck, in August? Or November, for that matter! LOL

Looking forward to Dallas next week … And my husband and I are going to Yosemite in August. We’re meeting up with two of his siblings and three of his cousins. It should be great!

  2. brownone Says:

HARRY POTTER!!! WOO HOO!!! Both the movie and the final book. :-(

  3. Kathryn S Says:

I’m excited about RWA and seeing all my friends — prepared to be hugged, Jenna! And I’m looking forward to my niece’s wedding in August. I’m also looking forward to the possibility of having a week or so off before I have to start a new project. That will be good. :-)

  4. Isabel Says:

Have a wonderful time in Dallas, ladies, wish I could be there, the only consolation I have is that many of you will be in SF when RWA comes to the city. :)

Looking forward to meeting you all in person, in the meantime, I’m looking forward to your books.

As for what what I’m looking forward now that the July is here? I’m getting married. Transformers (yes I’m a geek) and my enormous TBR mountain.

Have a wonderful rests of the weekend and have a wonderful week! Thanks so much for making me laugh, cry, for inspiring me and for all these wonderful books you write. You’re an amazing group.

    ((hugs)))

I’m looking forward to “Everything Forbidden!!” When did you say it’s being released???

  6. Jenna Petersen Says:

Wow, everyone has fun stuff to look forward to!

Margo, Yosemite sounds good! I don’t think I’ve ever been there. Or I don’t remember it if I have. We grew up within a few hours of Yellowstone, though and went there at least once a year.

brownone, I think I’m the only muggle in the world who feels Meh about Harry. But I know it’s going to be mass hysteria for both.

Kate, well DUH. HUGS all around. People will talk.

Isabel — You’re getting MARRIED??? How did I miss this info?????

LadyDawg, you’re sweet. EVERYTHING FORBIDDEN is a November release, so that means it will be in stores October 30th. :) I’ll be putting up a second excerpt in October. There’s one up there now at http://www.jennapetersen.com

    :)

  7. Robyn DeHart Says:

HARRY POTTER!!!! Oh yeah, so excited. I can’t believe I have to wait to see the movie until after National. That’s annoying. More than anything though I’m really looking forward to seeing my family this summer. Especially my 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Man, I miss those kids.

And, btw, I’m totally bribeable. Chocolate works wonders.

  8. Helen Says:

I too am looking forward to Harry Potter but I am going to be a Grandmother again in about 3-4 weeks which is really exciting. I have already voted for what I think should happen next in A Woman Scorned and I am loving the story so far and can’t wait for the next chapter.
    Have Fun
    Helen

  9. Shana Says:

I’m excited about next saturday. Some friends we haven’t seen in a while are coming into town :-)

  10. Jenna Petersen Says:

Congrats on the grandbaby, Helen!! :) Have fun with your friends, Shana! And Robyn, I’ll see YOU next week. Woohoo!!

  11. Haven Rich Says:

Isn’t it exciting that Isabel is getting married! Yay! And see how she tried to slip it in there all smooth and stuff??

I’m looking forward to the RWA conference! Yay!!! Turning 31 in August. A simple excitement, the arrival of the photos of me and my children.

Ohh plus, I’m getting professional photos done!

Did I mention the conference?? I think I did hehe.

  12. J Perry Stone Says:

    I’m looking forward to:
    a) nationals
    b) seeing you all and friends I only know via internet
    c) the kids going back to school
    d) ratatoie (sp) this evening
    e) and finding out how my WIP is going to go over with an interested agent (or am I being optimistic? Oy)

You write blogs like you speak, Jenna. Quick and smart. I find I have to read faster, for some reason

  13. J Perry Stone Says:

Okay, go see Ratatoulle (ha, I think I spelled it this time). I’ve been so disgusted with movies this past, uh …. decade, and Brad Bird always restores my faith.

  14. Jude Says:

I look forward to your posts about National. I’ve added this blog to the blog roll for Blogging National.

  15. Jenna Petersen Says:

I’m looking forward to seeing you all, too! :) I’m glad there are so many Jaunty Readers going to be there. That’s always cool. And while I’ll probably be blogging here about Nat’l when I get back, I’ll also be posting my regular National Day-by-Day Diary at Passionate Pen, as well. :)

  16. Anne Mallory Says:

Harry Potter!!! Dallas!!! Seeing everyone!!! Going on family vacations!!! Excessive exclamations!!!

  17. Anne Mallory Says:

    JPerryStone - I loved Ratatouille too! :D
