I’m curious – how many of JQ’s readers are writers?
![]()
And of those of you who are writers, what do you write? I’m assuming that (since the JQs are Romance writers) that’s what you are writing, but I’d like to hear it from you. So here’s the question: Who is a writer, what do you write, and have you ever submitted anything to a publishing house?
Next question: What “writing process” information would you like us to discuss in our blogs? Robyn just did one on GMC that was great – we could expand on that. Or maybe we could tell you our favorite research methods. Tell us …

I’m just a reader!! I wouldn’t even know where to begin to write a book. I can’t even write an interesting blog comment, much less a whole book. lol

I write, but not as seriously as I should. I let too many other things come first–mostly family. But I’m okay with that. One of these days….

I am a half-ass writer – historical romance (which is hopefully in the funny (ha-ha)and not the funny (weird) way). But I come here more as a reader than a writer. However, I very much have enjoyed the in-depth backgrounds you have been giving on your new book, Margo. And I thought that the layout of GMC that Robyn gave using her own book to fill in the specific elements was extremely interesting.

I’ve been procrastinating – a lot – but these days, I’m writing again, I’m taking it one day at a time, one page a time.
And with Clarisse, I enjoy reading about the in-depth into your books, behind the scene, excerpts, and the writing blogs like Robyn’s GMC -complete with examples. The JQ ladies are so helpful.
Can’t thank you enough!

I write Edwardian-set Historicals. Submitted some Regency MSS a few years back that thankfully got rejected when I changed time periods.I’m most curious about how a published author on a deadline grows their novel: the journey from idea germ to actual plotting. Does research ever turn up anything you add to your characters/plot? How do you research for each MS?

My RSHs are in NYC now with a few pretty terrific agents. We’ll see!
