Great pictures Robyn. I haven’t been to the falls for about 9 years now…and that was over the Thanksgiving weekend. You haven’t lived until you are freezing your a** off in near sub-zero wind chills watching gulls soaring around the falls and the Niagra River! And that mist is about half frozen too. But the falls and the river are always beautiful no matter the season.

Did you have the sensation of moving while you standing still watching the rushing water drop over the edge? One can almost get seasick standing still.

Wow, how funny you were there this past weekend. We went on a vacation this past week to New York and Canada and coming back on Saturday, we stopped in at Niagra Falls. The kids were as wowed as they could be about a bunch of rushing water. It was pretty cook where the water hits so hard that the mist sprays up. And as far as the “Maid in the Mist” goes…heck no!! Me, a boat, roaring rapids, waterfalls, not a good mix.

No, ladydawgfan, we didn’t do the Maid of the Mist. We got there too late and did the last tour of the day which is the evening tour, so no boat rides included. It was still great though.

Jenna, I haven’t seen the movie, but we got lots of references to it on the tour. Maybe I should add it to out Netflix.

Those are beautiful!! El Guapo and I have talked about going before, we may just have to do that.

On a side note, did anyone else love the Marilyn Monroe movie “Niagra”. She’s really BAD (like she plays a bad girl, not that she acts badly) in it and it’s fantastic.

I love the Falls!! It’s a bit of a drive from where I live, but well worth the trip.

Did you go on the Maid of the Mist? Was it running? And just to clarify, the Maid of the Mist is a boat ride that takes its passengers directly to the base of the falls, right into the mist of the falling water. It’s great fun, and a great way to get an interesting close up view of the falls.
