The Christmas Procrastinator
Written by Kimberly Logan in Jaunty PostWhew! Well, I am a bit worse for wear after spending most of the morning tramping through the mall, but I finally managed to finish up the last of my Christmas shopping today and can breathe a sigh of relief. As I’ve mentioned before, I usually do most of my Christmas shopping online these days because I find the crowds at this time of year so hard to take, but I always seem to wind up putting off a few things and waiting until the very last minute to go out and get them. Actually, I’m rather proud of myself that I have finished it all up today. In the past, I’ve been known to still be buying gifts on Christmas Eve, so this is a definite improvement. Now all I have to do is find the energy to wrap them all. Or maybe that can wait until Sunday…
I hope that all of you have finished your shopping and are tucked up at home, prepared to enjoy the holiday weekend. But for all of those last minute procrastinators out there like me, I wish you the best of luck. ![]()

Shirley Karr Says:
Just got up from my nap, finished unloading the truck and going through all the treasures we brought back from Mexico, and realized I’m still a few items short, so… I’m off to brave the crowds, too. There’s also the fact that my hubby wrapped presents while I was working yesterday, and the stack of pakages with my name on them, even after opening a birthday gift last night, is still more than the number of things I have for him. I thought I could buy while we were on the trip, going into so many malls, but he was right there with me the whole time. Those packages are waiting to go under the tree, which is up but sadly is still naked.
Last minute? No, that would be tomorrow, when I send out our Christmas cards and start making Mom’s gift, a woven pearl necklace.
Rainy Says:
Love to hear from other procrastinators. You’ve heard about the notice in the newspaper stating the Procrastinator’s Meeting has been postponed until next week.
For years I’d have a recurring dream that it was six o’clock on Christmas Eve. All the stores were just about to close and I still had all my gifts to buy. Somehow I’d end up at a CVS or 7/11 to get my shifts. I’d wake up in a sweat.
We’ve also done most of our shopping online. Each year our list seems to be getting shorter anyway. But I do need to get just a couple of things tomorrow.
Shana Says:
USF and I are done–we’ve been done since Thursday! Our only problem is how to get all the stuff from here to Dallas.
