That really should read “couplet,” but I couldn’t resist.
Last chance to win an ARC from Anne,
A drawing after dark is planned,
Who will win a book today?
Only a comment below can say!
Comments made today count in the drawing. Winner to be randomly drawn at midnight PST! Winner will receive a signed ARC of my November release, The Earl of Her Dreams.
Post a couplet – goofy, book-related or otherwise – or, as the past weeks, just comment about your day/weekend.
Couplets for The Earl of Her Dreams:
Christian seeks a stolen book,
In The Dragon’s Tale Inn he knows to look,
Kate seeks a place to hide,
Instead she finds her future mate inside.
Kate has a scar and pain that runs deep,
Christian a wretched past and promise to keep,
Stuck together in a snowed in inn,
More than healing they may find within.

I really dont know what a couplet is but if its that little ryhming thing at the bottom of your comment telling us about the contest, thats good. I wish I could be creative with words in a poetic kind of way..I could never seem to get stuff like that right.lol..I enjoy these contests and stuff that all you ladies offer.

Kate has a wicked little plan,
Which doesn’t involve a certain man,
A man she can not abide
To an roadside inn she will hide
Christian is a man with a task
He’s the Earl of Canley behind a mask
Danger looms in every shadow
Kate think he’s a cute fellow
A murderer must confess
To bring an end to this mess
Sweet kisses to be had
And that can’t be bad.
I think this poem is cute
It’s better than me playing a flute
After all I love books more
To play a flute would be a bore.
Haha, this was fun
And I’ve only just begun
I can’t stop laughing
Nor can I stop ryhming.
Ok I swear I’ll stop now haha.

(MUST BE SUNG WITH A DO-WOP BEAT)
Dukes, Dukes, Dukes and Earls, Earls, Earls,
Fall in love, love, love, with the girls, girls, girls
Again, this is my early morning, pre-caffeine brain at work!

Kate Simon runs to a roadside inn
Unbeknownst to her, there is danger within
She shares a room with Christian Black
Once they kiss, they can never go back
Okie-dokie, there’s mine.
Anne, I sure have learned a thing or two about poetry the past couple of weeks. LOL!

Is the weekend over so soon?
Too many things to be done by noon
I need to get my butt in gear
So I guess I better get off here

Which in all honest is quite alright!
Once I become published, I’ll blog here,
And try mask all of my fears!

I knew I should have paid more attention in English class when we were covering poetry and other stuff. Alas, I’m like a dancer with two left feet when it comes to rhyming. I like reading what you other talented ladies come up with though.

I spent my weekend on the couch,
in a kind of, well, slouch.
With my cat on my lap
who was taking a long, long nap.

Since Kim’s revisions are finally done
It’s time for her to have some fun
So though a winner I cannot be
I’ll post this rhyming comment with glee.
Okay, my brain is mush after my 24/7 schedule for the last several weeks, but at least it rhymes.

Oh good grief, I posted my first line wrong. Instead of RIGHT it should be WRITE. Fix that mentally, would you?
