So I’m back, and I’m officially married. That is so weird. The whole idea of being Mrs. Ultimate Sportsfan is so weird to me.
Not so to USF. As soon as we arrived at the reception, he was introducing me as “my wife, Shane.” Then all through the honeymoon, he did it, too. Every time I would be just as shocked as the first. I am someone’s wife? How did this happen?
Poor USF. I don’t think I’ve referred to him as my husband yet. Baby steps, okay? Teeny, tiny baby steps.
Besides the weirdness of getting married, the wedding was fabulous. I was a wreck before the ceremony. As my bridesmaids were walking down the aisle, I was standing in the dressing area telling my dad that I was about to throw up. I was shaking so badly. But as we walked down the aisle, my dad never faltered. He kept saying, “Breathe, breathe. Walk. Not that fast! Breathe.” He was awesome.
I didn’t cry during the ceremony. There was a moment when I first saw USF that I thought I might lose it, but I didn’t. Thank goodness. We had to speak a lot (who knew there were so many vows?). It would have been hard to say all that between sobs.
The reception was a blast. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. I know I did. I think this happens to everyone, but for the first 2 hours, I had no idea where the music the DJ was playing came from. I submitted detailed lists, and he was playing all this weird stuff. Like Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” and some weird heavy metal song. I think it was by Whitesnake. Huh?
But, even the DJ had fun. He danced more than anyone and even got me drinks. I think it was sort of a case of one for you, one for me. Like I said, everyone had a good time.
I just got back from Costa Rica a few days ago. It was simply gorgeous. Whenever I figure out how to post pictures (thank you, Anne, for posting the one today), I’ll post a couple from the honeymoon. You have to see the crocodile.
I wish I could do the honeymoon all over again (but wear more sunscreen and bug repellent next time). Costa Rica was the best. Where’d you go on your honeymoon or your most memorable vacation? Any good (or bad) wedding stories?

My favorite vacation was going to Toronto with my best friend. We partied every day, shopped like maniacs and had a blast!

Shane, (I means Mrs. Ultimate Sportfan
) and USF look good together. I hope you get to post more pics soon.
My first real vacation was a couple of months ago to Hawaii. We had such a wonderful time. I spent the entire time there in a dreamlike state.

Well, me and my hubby have been married for nearly 11 years now, and 2 kids and 2 dogs later I love him even more than ever!
For our honeymoon, we drove from central Utah to Las Vegas baby! We went on the tallest, fastest rollercoaster back then at the stateline twice! Once in the day, then once at night!
It was a week of vacation for us, and I loved it! Want to go back someday soon, I love Vegas!
The most memorable thing that happened during our honeymoon was me and hubby were in the car, and there was a wreck ahead of us, a car was literally on fire! Upside-down and on fire! They pushed all traffic to the far right lane, and crept us through till the firetruck could get there.
It was stop and go traffic, and we stopped for about 5 minutes DIRECTLY ACROSS from the burning car. Can I just tell you, it was July, hot…and even more so when you could feel the heat of the flames through our car, from the burning wreck across from us! Wow!!!
But congrats to you, Mrs. USF! As long as he is a sweet, caring, loving man who supports you in your career, more power to you both.
Stay in love, that’s the only advice I’ll give you.

Congrats Shane!!!
Maybe I should have given you this advice BEFORE you said your “I do”s but if you laugh you wont have that “tossing cookies” feeling.
Although my husband and I got married in Vegas (me in a tweety bird shirt that said “devil” on it) we laughed the entire time. We would look at each other while the preacher was saying his stuff and burst out into the giggles..both of us.
Of course, someone always has to cry at your wedding…for us it was the husbands friend who we brought with us..a male friend…all in tears from the moment I walked up the little isle.
I know its not “correct” but even he(the guy crying) laughs at it when we refer to two laughing goofballs and one crying Mexicain.
Hope you had a awesome time full of wonderful memories.

Welcome home, Shane! You and your new hubby look fabulous!! Hey, you now have a “DH”. *g* I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed your wedding reception.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary in May. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. First we stayed in Waikiki then went to Kauai. It was the first trip to Hawaii for both of us. We loved the beaches and the tropical atmosphere so much that we returned to Hawaii (Maui this time) to celebrate our 1st year anniversary.

As for getting emotional during the ceremony, I got the giggles. Bad. My dad said he could see the flowers in my hair shaking when I laughed.
